Caring for your Variegated Clivia


General

Taking care of variegated Clivia is not too different from normally coloured Clivias. It is essential to keep them out of direct sunlight, but they need bright filtered light in order to show their best colours. It may also be neccassary to keep them in a hothouse if your winters are extreme .

You should keep them moist but not wet. Regular feeding will encourage growth. In China they sometimes cut the flower spike off, inorder to improve the shape of the plant, putting more energy into the plant instead of the flower. I tend to keep my variegated and Light of Buddah plants under the Clivia benches where it is slightly darker.
